Apologies to Benny Hill

My last post was about a cart I built for my short drill press, and the possibly dangerous creative use of a couple rachet straps to hoist it onto the cart.  It had been sitting on the floor for years, and I finally managed to raise it up to a better working height.  Of course, I didn't plan ahead so I had to order the wheels.

The wheels came in, and hilarity ensued.

The cost of wheels can add up. Your drill press looks nice. I need a better one. Mine is an old Craftsman, but an old drill press is better than no drill press at all.

LOL! Love it! Thanks for the laugh AND the demonstration.

Jeff, my wife buys all the good power tools. She used to be a manufacturing engineer in an auto plant so she knows how to choose a great tool.

Marilyn, glad you liked it! I was giggling when I posted it.

Would have loved to see the previous entry (the lifting of the press with ratchet straps) done this way. Then you could have covered teh 3 stooges as well. Come see us at the office some time.-George

Aaron, I've watched it three times and still keep missing the half nekked big busted women you're supposed to be chasing!?!?

George, good to hear from you! You know my wife well enough to realize that a video of hoisting the drill press would be... ill advised. I plead the fifth!

Vic, you have clearly not understood my artistic interpretation. ;) My video attempted to show that all Woodworking is just a metaphor for more basic needs, and woodworkers are just seeking to imprint the world with their mark in an effort to validate their bourgeois vision of the artistic process.

Plus, I couldn't convince any wimmens to be in the video.

Well done, Aaron. You turned a needed, but boring task into a minute of amusement for your fellow woodheads. Thanks.

I'm gonna have that music in my head all day. I hope it doesn't affect my behaviour.

Great Video, but I was on the phone to someone and that music came on in the background! I could hear them think "I've got one here!"
Great blog, wish I'd found it sooner!
